Hi, Iām Lindsay Forsythe. I started Creative Nature Collective to collaborate with others in cultivating trust, awe and curiosity in Nature - both Nature in the world surrounding us, and the creative Nature in ourselves.
I offer Nature-connected practice groups, meditative movement, and classes/small group private instruction in Contact Improvisation dance.
In nature-connected practice groups I guide small groups to connect within nature, fine-tuning their awareness of the wise, healing, awe-inspiring qualities and gifts that the Earth shares with us.
In Contemplative Dance Practice, I facilitate small groups through a meditation practice created by Barbara Dilley to access present moment awareness, spontaneous movement, and a nourishing mind-body experience individually and with others.
In Contact Improvisation lessons, I teach classes and small private groups CI skills within the container of improvisation, guiding people to access their unique expression. I encourage deep listening, teaching history and concepts around CI so they can learn a new movement form, or to work on researching a form they are already familiar with in a deeper way with guidance.
Overall, I strive for the experience of balance, clarity, kindness, curiosity and self-understanding. I have experienced Nature as a deeply supportive guide, teeming with wisdom. Additionally, I have discovered that my unique creative Nature can be an incredibly curious and adventurous landscape to explore, leading to more self-confidence and joy. I believe the combination of these approaches creates a balanced and rewarding experience. I hope Creative Nature Collective provides a supportive environment for this unfolding.
Some of my education in these fields and which I feel are integral to my approach include: Certification in Nature-Connected life coaching (from the Earth-Based Institute), a Masters in Social Work (New York University), and a background in dance and other movement modalities including contact improvisation, contemplative dance practice (CDP), and Authentic Movement. Additionally, I am a certified Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance instructor, and have completed Authentic Relating Training levels 1, 2, and 3 through ART International. I have participated in multiple trainings in Contact Improvisation and Improvisation dance, some of my favorite teachers being Nancy Stark Smith, Nita Little and Nora Hajos.
